About the team and our work
Teatro de los Puentes is an international project dedicated to the creation of performance experiences which are contemplative, participatory and transdisciplinary. With a background in various collaborations between its members over several decades, the full team came together for the first time in 2016 in the making of Puentes Invisibles. In addition to their artistic work, the team are also involved in collaborative research.
Dr Deborah Templeton is a writer of contemplative performance texts and short fiction, and a performance researcher. She is the director of an international research project on mindfulness and performance (www.mindfulnessandperformance.co.uk). Since 1993, Deborah has researched, published on, and collaborated with Nicolás Núñez. She wrote the performance text for Puentes Invisibles, and will also write The Dreaming of Trees.
Nicolás Núnez is the director of the Taller de Investigación Teatral, based at UNAM, Mexico. He has been creating psychophysical performance training dynamics and ritual-based theatre productions since the 1970s. He is the author of Anthropocosmic Theatre, amongst other titles. Nicolás directed Puentes Invisibles, and will also lead the creative development of The Dreaming of Trees.

Helena Guardia is a long-term creative partner in the work of the Taller de Investigacion Teatral. Her training background includes work on Theatre of sources with Grotowski, and long-term practice in yoga and Tai Chi. In addition to performing, Helena translated the Puentes Invisibles text into Spanish. She will again work closely with Deb on the development of a Spanish performance text for The Dreaming of Trees.
“Something happened within me which I cannot express in words and I still do not know what it is. But there I can see the moon and its entourage of stars, lighting up the night, and the deep blue sky, fired by the sun. And there we are, seeking our place in the Universe” (Núñez 1997).
Domingo Adame is a theatre academic with an extensive background as an actor, including with Rodolfo Valencia and Nicolás Núñez. He has written numerous books and articles on theatre and is a specialist in transdisciplinary theatre. Domingo performed in Puentes Invisibles and will be a member of the creative team for The Dreaming of Trees.
Cash Clay is a postgraduate researcher and is working to develop a psychophysical and mindful approach to working with landscape in performance and explore, through performance, ways of being with and dwelling in places and landscapes. Cash performed in Puentes Invisibles and will be a member of the creative team for The Dreaming of Trees.

Jorge G. Flores Icaza is a professional trumpet player from Escuela Superior de Música INBA,México City, who also has studies in Music Education for children and has been participant of Music Education Seminaries in FaM UNAM. In Theater he has been part of Taller de Investigación Teatral with Nicolás Nuñez and the Teatro Átmico with Zonia Rangel. He also has been part as a musician, composer and actor of several theatrical performances such as VIVAN, memoria de un pueblo (2013-2014), Don Quixote del Maayab (2015-2016) and recently he made the music in an organic way for the Puentes Invibles when he worked with part of the members of the Teatro de los Puentes.
